Content Removal & Takedown Policy
Effective date: 22 June 2026 Last updated: 22 June 2026
This policy explains how content is moderated, reported, and removed on Debate Arena (https://debate-arena.example). It forms part of our Terms of Service and works together with the Disclaimer / Content Policy. Contact: support@debate-arena.example.
1. How we moderate
We use a combination of:
- Automated filters that scan content and flag material that may breach our rules or Malaysian law (for example, violent, hateful, sexual, or politically/religiously sensitive content);
- User reports submitted through the in-app report feature; and
- Manual review by the administrator.
Flagged content may be queued for review, hidden pending review, or removed automatically in clear cases.
2. Our right to remove
We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, remove, hide, restrict, blur, or decline to publish any content, and suspend or terminate any account, where we reasonably believe the content or conduct:
- breaches the Disclaimer / Content Policy or Terms of Service; or
- is unlawful under Malaysian law (including the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, the Sedition Act 1948, the Penal Code, and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010).
Automated flagging is a precaution, not a legal finding. Filters are not perfect and may catch lawful content or miss unlawful content; human review aims to correct this.
3. How to report content
- Click report on the relevant content, or email support@debate-arena.example.
- Include a link to the content and a short description of the problem.
- If you are reporting illegal material or a privacy/IP violation, say which (e.g. "defamation", "copyright", "doxxing", "violence").
We aim to acknowledge reports within a reasonable time and to act on serious or unlawful content promptly.
4. Intellectual property complaints
If you believe content infringes your copyright or trademark, email support@debate-arena.example with:
- a description of the work and the allegedly infringing content (with a link);
- your contact details;
- a statement that you believe the use is unauthorised; and
- a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
We may remove or disable the content and, where appropriate, notify the user who posted it.
5. Privacy / personal data complaints
If content reveals your personal data without consent (doxxing) or breaches the PDPA, contact support@debate-arena.example. See the Privacy Policy for your rights.
6. Action against accounts
Depending on severity and history, we may warn, suspend, or terminate accounts, and forfeit unused tokens on termination (see the Refund & Billing Policy). Serious or criminal content may be reported to law enforcement, and relevant records may be preserved and disclosed as permitted or required by law.
7. Appeals
If you believe your content or account was actioned in error, you may appeal by emailing support@debate-arena.example within 14 days, explaining why. We will review and respond. Our decision after review is final.
8. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of Malaysia and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
